Skilled Permanent Residence Visas
In recent months, key criteria for many skilled permanent
visas have been lowered to address skills in demand in some
sectors of the Australian economy. English language and age
requirements apply to skilled visas. Dependent relatives can
be included in an application.
Independent Skilled Migration
For individuals seeking to obtain permanent residency in
Australia on the basis of their education, training and work
experience. This is the most often issued skilled visa.
Australian linked Skilled Migration
Similar to independent skilled migration visas, but for those
who have got relatives living in Australia. The requirements
for these visas are slightly lower.
Skilled State/Territory/Regional Area - Sponsored Independent
For persons who have got skills that are in need by a state,
territory or regional area and can obtain sponsorship by the
respective administrative body, that is confirmation that
the body is interested in having an individual with certain
skills work and live in their area of responsibility.
Skill Matching Scheme
For individuals not able to satisfy the criteria for one
of the above visa. Their details are entered into a database
which is accessible to potential employers. If an employer
decides that a candidate is suitable, the person can be issued
with a subclass 134 skill matching visa.
Employer Nomination Scheme
People who are sponsored (nominated and supported or taken
responsibility of) by an Australian company. Skill requirements
are high and must be specific to the position in question.
